This program is designed to facilitate a meaningful first experience in a prepared Montessori environment guided by a trained teacher.  In this class, you may help your child have a gentle transition from home to school. This program runs in six-week sessions on select Wednesday mornings.

8:30am - 11:30am

We provide individualized instruction according to each child's age, abilities, and interests following the Montessori philosophy and the Montessori method of education.  The children experience practical life activities (care of person and care of environment), development of hand-eye coordination, sensorial activities, language, mathematics, social studies, science, art, music, outdoor play and social development. 

8:30am - 2:30pm

The child begins their day in the Montessori Morning program, then from noon till 2:30 the children are grouped in their Extended Montessori class.  In this class we present detailed and extended variations of the morning activities, with an emphasis on literacy activities and small group interactions.

8:30am - 2:30pm

The Kindergarten child begins the day in a multi-age Montessori Morning class.  They are leaders in these classes and provide mentoring and modeling for the younger students.  From noon to 2:30 the Kindergartners are grouped together and experience advanced practical life activities, sensorial activities, language, mathematics, social studies (geography, history and anthropology), science (botany, zoology, geology, physical and environmental science), art, music, outdoor recreation and social development.  We also present opportunities in the afternoon for in-depth study in all areas in both group and individual settings.

In addition to our Morning Montessori, Extended Montessori and our Montessori Kindergarten programs, we offer all day child care for both the morning and afternoon.  Children can be dropped off at 7:30am and can be picked up as late at 5:30pm.  Children enrolled in the Montessori Morning with Full Child Care are provided with an opportunity for a 90 minute nap.  Children enrolled in the Extended Montessori with Full Child Care program are provided with a brief quiet period.  In addition to the activities that take place during the Montessori class part of the day, children in the Child Care program participate in cooking, special interest lessons, expanded art activities and enjoy time with educational toys and games.  We also provide story-time, movement, outdoor play and music activities for a good balance between active and relaxed activities.  The Child Care program incorporates many aspects of the home environment to create comfortable, stimulating, and sensitive care for children.

This option allows a 7:30 drop off for families who do not need the after care portion of our Wrap-Around Child Care.
